After RG Veda had barely debuted, CLAMP was asked to start work on their second series, Man of Many Faces (20 Mensou ni Onegai). It has a much lighter tone, focusing on grade-schooler Akira as he follows in his absent father’s footsteps, donning the title 20 Masks and stealing impressive items for his mothers.
This light little gag manga ended up being more introspective an philosophical than we’d ever expected, but was definitely a nice palette cleanser after RG Veda…and before we tackle our next dark series, Tokyo Babylon.
