As another little bonus, this is the first episode of our brand-new, writing-centric podcast Write for Me, Write for You, where we chronicle our attempts to finish a novel (each) in 2020.
Update: we changed the name to Write Place/Write Time, but the older episodes are still available. If you enjoyed this episode, you can listen to more here.
This week we take a quick break from our usual content and share our first bonus episode, in which we dive in to sci fi classic They Were Eleven by Hagio Moto. Although most of our bonus episodes will be exclusive to our $5 and up patrons on Patreon, we wanted to share this episode with all of you!
We continue our read through X with vol 6, and things really start taking off.

CW: blood, gore, death, assault, and other grisly things. Also a potentially glib/dark humor approach to grim subjects. We joke about death, specifically familial death, a lot in these episode (it’s one of those laugh-so-you-don’t-cry things).
Wow! It’s amazing that it’s been a year already. To celebrate CLAMP day and our podcast’s one-year anniversary, we had to discuss our namesake, the CLAMP in Wonderland short.
Lucy and Robin dive into volume X volume 5…coming atcha from the past. Before con closures, shelter-in-place mandates, and “social distancing.”
(Note: we’re both sick in this episode, but it was recorded before COVID-19 made it to the US…we’re both fine now!)

At long last, our heroes make it to one of their favorite CLAMP series: X! They’ll laugh, they’ll cry…well, mostly they’ll reminisce about high school and talk about the end of the world. Join Lucy and Robin this week as they begin their X discussion with volume 1.

Here’s a link to the podcast Headlong: Surviving Y2K on Spotify, which Robin recommends if you want to know more about panic in the leadup to the millennium.
And finally, follow Robin’s twitter account to cheer her on as she finished the last pages of her graphic novel! (You can also follow Lucy for occasional rambling about pop culture and being back in school)

This transcript has been lightly edited for clarity and readability, which basically just means I cut out some “ums” and some of the many, many, many times we say “yeah” while the other person is talking. I tried to keep the flavor and personality of the episode intact, without making it too annoying to read. Hope you enjoy it!
