Clover lives on as one of CLAMP’s great unfinished series, although it is less infamous than X. Deeply influenced by cyberpunk movies from the 80s and 90s, and drawing heaviling on design elements that would later be described as “steampunk,” Clover follows Su, one of the rare “clovers” that are born with special abilities, as she leaves the cage where she has spent her entire life. Escorted by the government-assigned protector Kazuhiko, Su has a goal in mind, but must face soldiers from multiple governments (including her own) in order to get there.
